Watch Stanley Ka Dabba Movie Online in HD DVD Quality

Director: Amole Gupta
Cast: Partho, Amole Gupte and Divya Dutta
Release Date: 2011-05-13 12:00:00
Quick Take: Definitely check out the contents of the dabba

Stanley. Earnest Stanley (Partho) with his weatherworn schoolbag, bruised face and grubby school uniform. Stanley who smiles and you want to hug him. Who builds a lighthouse for his science project when the rest of his classmates hand in cut and paste project books. Who recites a poem he made up on his own to his favourite teacher (Divya Dutta) on whom he has a slight crush on. Stanley who doesn’t bring a dabba to school. Who pretends he is heading out to buy vada paav during recess but fills his stomach with water from the bathroom pipe instead. How can you not love Stanley? How can you not see how special he is?

So Stanley has no dabba but his friends (played with marvellous spontaneity by a motley group of kids) will readily share theirs with him. Especially Aman Verma who gets the most scrumptious spread delivered from home. Except that the villain of the piece, their Hindi teacher who they nickname Khadus (Amole Gupta) wants the dabba for himself and hates that Stanley takes his share. More of the plot will not be revealed but let’s just say Stanley does eventually get a dabba to school even though it is evident life is not a perfect fairytale with perfect people and perfect endings.

Stanley Ka Dabba Tere Andar Bhi Kahin Nanhi Si Jaan Life Bahot Simple Hai
As with most children’s films, this one is more for adults than kids. It takes a wry lighthearted look at the schooling system today. It throws light on a lot of serious issues in the country regarding children. SKD is light on its feet, will definitely make you hungry with those constant shots of snack boxes filled with delicacies and that lump on your throat towards the end may not be entirely unjustified.
