GreenGT LMPH2 Latest Racer Eco-Racer Car

One of the most promising fuels in terms of sustainable development in the automotive sector is hydrogen. Widely acclaimed, the hydrogen fuel cell stands out from the other sources of renewable power due to its capability of imparting greater endurance to the engines it powers. And one of the newest green cars that is currently creating waves is GreenGT LMPH2. Designed as a prototype racer by a Swiss company, the Green GT is a 300kW (402 horsepower) racer based on a LMP chassis and with a capacity to hold about 12 kg of hydrogen in its 700 bar high-pressure tanks.

No doubt, there are many similar electric cars out there, but then what actually sets this car apart from the rest is its powerful engine which is well supported by the hydrogen fuel cell. And this hence brings it on par with the other combustion-engined complements.

To add further testimony to the power and endurance of the GreenGT LMPH2, is the fact that it has been invited by the Automobile Club de I’Ouest to race along with the Delta Wing Concept at the 2012 24 Heures du Mans (Le Mans) which is by far the oldest known sports car race in endurance racing. This can be considered as a serious compliment to the speed and acceleration that the GreenGT LMPH2 can supposedly produce.

Also, with six times Le Mans driver Christian Pescatori who has driven Audi R8 to victory at Sebring and has also been the runner up twice at Le Mans as well, GreenGT LMPH2 can probably deliver a performance suitable enough for the hype it has been generating. Let’s hope it does, as this would be a good advertisement for electric cars, especially those powered by hydrogen.
