Nissan ZEOD RC World's Fastest Electric Hybrid Car With Top Speed Of 300 km/h

The Le Mans 24 hour race in France is a staple fixture on the calendar of many racing fans, but next year Nissan is going electric and will be running its ZEOD RC prototype, which it says will reach speeds in excess of 300 kilometers per hour (KM/h), which is around 185MPH.

The ZEOD RC actually stands for Zero Emission On Demand Racing Car, rather than ‘radio controlled’ as some of you, and I, may have been hoping.
The ZEOD RC project has run as a programme within Nissan and Nismo (the motorsports division of Nissan) with input from Japan, Europe and US areas of the company. The design team is lead by Ben Bowlby, who previously worked on Nissan DeltaWing. Nissan says testing will begin later in summer 2013.
Nissan have been focusing heavily on electric vehicles with the Nissan Leaf now recognised as the world's best-selling electric car. The ZEOD RC will be the foundation for technology that could then go into the next generation of Nissan Leaf vehicles.
